Seth Romera, the Adult Services Librarian for the San Luis City-County Library, will be presenting new library services that many community members will soon learn about for the first time.

He will be giving brief descriptions of services not offered in the past by traditional libraries. For example, he will be introducing the library’s seed library, VHS video archiving in the Memory Lab, the new 3D Printer, mobile library visits to senior living communities, and TLC: The Language Connection. For the traveler, he will explain the passport photo service and for those looking to stay in shape, the new yoga classes. In more traditional areas, he will share the free “streaming” of movies and music, eBooks, borrowing board games and online newspapers. The Comic Book Fair, social services and community assistance provided by TMHA will be additional services covered.

This will be a 1-hour lecture with 30 minutes offered to answer questions about specific library services. The goal of the presentation is to showcase the many alternatives offered by today’s libraries and to excite the attendees about one or more new library services.

August 8, 1-3 at the Unitarian Church

Seth Romera has worked for County of SLO Public Libraries for 17 years. In 2023 he graduated with a Master of Library and Information Science degree from San Jose State University. He is currently the Adult Services Librarian for the San Luis Obispo City-County Library.
